Puri, December 6: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi on Saturday announced a 1.5 lakh rooftop solar ULA model designed to benefit and empower seven to eight lakh residents of Odisha.

Gracing the Global Energy Leaders’ Summit 2025 in Puri, Joshi highlighted India's historic clean energy expansion and remarkable solar capacity growth in the country and said 1.5 lakh rooftop solar units will be provided under the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) model.

“Our Country has witnessed a remarkable solar capacity growth, which surged from 2.8 GW to approximately 130 GW in just 11 years. This impressive progress was further marked by achieving the highest-ever non-fossil capacity addition during the current fiscal year. I would like to announce a 1.5 lakh rooftop solar ULA model designed to benefit and empower 7-8 lakh residents of Odisha.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi also graced the occasion and said, “Odisha stands fully aligned with this national vision.”

“With our rich natural resources, strategic location, and world-class infrastructure, we are committed to accelerating the clean energy transition. I reiterated our steadfast commitment to Vision 2036 and 2047, which place sustainable development and green energy at the core of our growth roadmap.
