​​​​​​​Cuttack, Oct 24: Cuttack Police resorted to Lathi Charge on Friday after violence erupted in the evening during Kali Puja immersion.

According to report, several Kali Puja Committees were queued up with their medhas amid the city. Meanwhile, a face off reportedly broke out between the members of Chandinichowk and Bakharabad puja committees.Later, the situation escalated when members of both committees confronted violently. Police tried to keep peace and control the mob with amicable settlement, but in vain. In order to get rid of combative situation, police forces resorted to lathi charge at the spot.
