Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: In a major push to promote use of Evs phasing out carbon-fuled vehicles, the Odisha government on Monday extended the deadline for state officials to avail advance for fetching Evs.

The deadline to avail Ev advance has been fixed on February 2026, said a government notification.

The amount will be free-of interested and will be credited to the officials’ accounts, payble in easy instalments, said a notification issued by the Finance department.

The extension applies across Odisha and will align with the extended validity of the Odisha Electric Vehicle Policy, 2021, which is in force until March 31, 2026.

Under the scheme, Group-A and Group-B employees are eligible for interest-free advances to purchase electric cars. The advance is capped at 75 per cent of the vehicle’s cost, subject to a maximum limit of Rs 15 lakh.

Group-C and Group-D employees can avail the benefit for purchasing electric two-wheelers. In their case, the advance is limited to 75 per cent of the cost, with a ceiling of Rs 2 lakh.

The advance amount will be recovered in 100 equal monthly instalments and will be decucted from the employee’s salary starting from subsequent months.

One can pay higher amounts of EMIs to repay the amount yet earlier, said the Finance Department guidelines.
