Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: The Government Railway Police (GRP) has arrested a youth of Ganjam district from Surat on charges of killing her girlfriend in Dhanbad-Bhubaneswar Express train after six months.
Bhubaneswar GRP identified the accused tracking the call details record (CDR)of the deceased.
The accused had destroyed the victim's mobile and threw it in dustbin. The CDR revealed that the accused, identified as Sudhansu Pradhan of Dharakot area in Ganjam district, had frequently called the victim, Suman Kumari of Ranchi.
A team of Bhubaneswar GRP suspected Sudhansu and raided his house in Ganjam where police got to know that he had left the village after the murder incident. A special team managed to arrest him from his workplace in Surat.
We are bringing him to Bhubaneswar on transit remand and out team will reach in Bhubaneswar by October 24, said an official.
Notably, body of a woman was recovered from a toilet of Dhanbad-Bhubaneswar eXPRESS TRAIN (02831) after it arrived at Bhubaneswar railway station on April 20. The GRP had started a probe into the matter registering a case.
