Pet owners are investing between Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000 at least twice a month to pamper their beloved animals. New parlours have opened in areas like Saheednagar and Nayapalli, staffed with trained professionals dedicated to providing top-notch care.
“This trend among pet lovers is vital for their well-being. Since pets live alongside humans, they deserve to look good and stay healthy,” says Biswaranjan Sahoo, a pet parlour owner in Saheed Nagar. With the increasing demand for pet services, he plans to open even more parlours in Bhubaneswar to meet the needs of this growing market.
As pet ownership evolves into a fashion statement, many owners seek luxurious grooming experiences for their furry companions. Pets enjoy soothing showers with body cleansers, gentle drying with hair dryers, and even relaxing massages. Grooming services include nail trimming and various stylish haircuts, such as bob cuts and lion cuts, to enhance their appearance while also promoting hygiene and preventing insect infestations.
To ensure their pets' overall health, many owners also take their animals to veterinary clinics for check-ups and vaccinations as advised by professionals.
Stuti Mohapatra from Bhubaneswar is a devoted pet lover. She describes her dog as her own child, saying, "I care for her just like I would for a kid." Stuti often takes her dog to a pet parlor, where the professional groomers provide excellent services. She regularly schedules nail and hair trims, as well as spa treatments, which help keep her dog’s fur healthy and free from insects. Stuti believes that, just like kids, pets require a lot of care, especially since they share our home.
