Bhubaneswar, Jan 9: Miscreants allegedly burgled gold ornaments worth over Rs 8 lakh along with Rs 1.5 lakh cash from the house of a government official in Bhubaneswar in the wee hours of Tuesday.
As per reports, the burglary took place at the house of the Additional Director of the Panchayati Raj department at Gandamunda under Khandagiri police limits. A group of burglars entered the house around 5 am this morning and decamped with gold ornaments worth over Rs 8 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh cash.
On getting the information, Khandagiri police arrived at the scene and took stock of the situation.
A case has been registered and efforts are on to trace the culprits involved, said the police.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
