New Delhi, July 22: Gold prices surged sharply on Tuesday, reclaiming the Rs 1 lakh per 10 grams level in the national capital, driven by robust buying from stockists, as per the All India Sarafa Association.
Standard gold (99.9% purity) rallied by Rs 1,000 to reach Rs 1,00,020 per 10 grams, marking a four-week high. This is the first time gold has touched the Rs 1 lakh mark since June 19, when it last traded at similar levels.
Gold of 99.5% purity also witnessed a solid gain of Rs 1,000, settling at Rs 99,550 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes), compared to its previous close of Rs 98,550.
Silver prices also saw a strong upswing, jumping by Rs 3,000 amid increased demand and bullish trends in precious metals.
