Bhubaneswar, Aug 12: In a keenly contested match of Gatikrushna Memorial Football League (Division-B) Tournament on Saturday Mukteswar United defeated Kalinga Youth Sporting 3-2.
Organised by the Bhubaneswar Athletic Association, at the Unit-I Bhubaneswar Football Academy Ground, here the match swung like a pendulum with both teams trying desperately to prove their mettle.
For the winners, Chandan Sahani netted three goals and was adjudged the 'Man of the Match'. He received the trophy from eminent soccer coach Nilamadhab Deo. the organisers informed.
In the second match of the day played in the afternoon, Chandrasekharpur Youth Association and Kalinga Sporting shared honours with the final score-line 1-1. Both goals were scored in the first half. Despite several attempts both teams failed to beat the rival goalkeepers in the second half.
Chandrasekharpur Youth Association's Sahil Rout received the 'Man of the Match' award from Bhubaneswar Athletic Association Secretary Mahendra Nayak, the organisers added.
