Berhampur, August 8: A shocking incident was reported from Khandur Chhak under Hinjili police limits in Ganjam district late Friday night, where a man allegedly slit the throat of a vehicle driver after the latter refused to give him a lift.

According to reports, the accused initially approached the driver, identified as Uddhab Padhi of the Hinjili area, and asked for a lift. When Padhi refused, the man allegedly attacked him with a knife and slit his throat before fleeing the spot.

Padhi sustained critical injuries and was initially rushed to Hinjili Hospital. He was later shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for advanced treatment.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to identify and apprehend the accused.
