Koraput, Ap 12: Police in Koraput district foiled a major attempt to smuggle cannabis to another state, seizing 21 quintals of ganja packed in sacks.
Acting on a tip-off, the Padua police conducted a special operation here. During the operation, the police officials intercepted an Eicher truck and conducted a search.
On search, the officials found huge cache of ganja worth Rs 10 crore.
Following this, the cannabis was seized and the driver of the vehicle was detained
This operation underscores the proactive measures taken by the police to curb illegal activities and protect the community, said the senior official.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
