Angul, Aug 30: In a significant drug bust, Athmallik Police seized 10 kilograms of ganja from a suspected smuggler near Maa Budhi Dhaba in Athmallik here.
Acting on a tip-off, the officer-in-charge of Athmallik police station, along with a team, set up a strategic ambush near the location. During the operation, they apprehended a man named Suresh Chandra Rajhans of Janimunda village, who was found carrying the contraband.
The police intercepted Suresh while he was transporting the cannabis and took him into custody. After interrogation at the police station, Suresh was formally arrested and later produced in court.
Athmallik Police confirmed that further investigation is underway to trace the source and network behind the smuggling operation.
