Puri, Mar 13: Gajapati Maharaj Divyasingha Deb conducted an inspection of the ongoing Parikrama project at the renowned Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri.
Accompanied by other senior officials, he shared important updates and plans aimed at improving the experience of the increasing number of devotees visiting the temple.
One of the key proposals discussed was the creation of an ‘Annakshetra’ outside the North Gate of the temple.
Gajapati Maharaj explained that with the growing number of devotees visiting the temple, the current facilities for ‘Prasad Sevana’ at Ananda Bazaar are becoming increasingly strained. As a result, there is a pressing need for more space where devotees can comfortably sit and enjoy the Mahaprasad.
In response to this, a plan has been devised to establish an 'Annakshetra' at a prominent location outside the North Gate. This will provide a spacious and convenient area for devotees to partake in Mahaprasad without any difficulty.
While the Mahaprasad will continue to be sold at Ananda Bazaar, the new arrangement will ensure that there are sufficient facilities for devotees to enjoy their meals in a comfortable and well-organized space near the North Gate.
Gajapati Maharaj also emphasized that discussions would be held with the state government, and steps will be requested to further the project’s development.
In addition to the Parikrama project inspection, Gajapati Maharaj visited the Pramod Udyana of Lord Jagannath and also toured the Gundicha Temple. He was accompanied by Arvind Padhi, the Chief Administrator of the temple, along with the District Collector, SP, and other officials during these visits.
