Bhubaneswar, Jul 30: Fuel prices across Odisha continue to remain high, with Malkangiri district recording the steepest rates as of Wednesday.
According to official data, petrol prices in the state capital Bhubaneswar stood at Rs101.29 per litre, while diesel was being sold at Rs92.20 per litre.
In neighbouring Cuttack, fuel prices followed a similar trend, with petrol priced at Rs101.24 and diesel at Rs93.34 per litre.
Sambalpur also reported elevated fuel rates, where the price of petrol touched Rs102.39 per litre and diesel was available at Rs93.22 per litre.
However, the highest fuel prices in the state were recorded in Malkangiri district. Petrol in the tribal-dominated region reached a staggering Rs 102.99 per litre, while diesel prices climbed to Rs 94.49 per litre.
Close behind, Nabarangapur district reported petrol at Rs102.66 and diesel at Rs 94.50 per litre, reflecting the continuing burden on consumers in interior regions.
Residents and transporters across these districts have expressed concern over the rising fuel costs, which are likely to impact transportation charges and the prices of essential commodities. No immediate relief has been announced by the state government or oil companies regarding the price surge.
