Bhubaneswar, May 20: A Special Court in Bhubaneswar on Monday confiscated assets worth Rs.1, 07, 66, 430 of a former Soil Conservation Officer in Malkangiri.
According to an official report, he was earlier charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a disproportionate assets case and the Court convicted him.
Tripathy, Ex-SCO, Malkangiri was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case U/s 13(2)r/w13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 for possession of disproportionate assets and convicted by Spl.Judge, Special Court, Bhubaneswar on 24.7.2019.
Following conviction of Tripathy, Odisha Vigilance had communicated to the competent authority to take appropriate action. Based upon this, the officer was imposed with penalty of withholding of full pension &gratuity permanently by the competent authority for possessing DA.
In all DA cases against senior ranks, Odisha Vigilance is simultaneously launching confiscation proceedings in Special Courts established for the purpose, for confiscation of their properties.
Odisha Vigilance is committed to take strong action against corrupt practices by government/public servants, including confiscation of properties acquired through corrupt means, in the future.
