Ranchi, Aug 30: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday.
Champai Soren had resigned from the JMM. He had also quit as a state minister two days back.
Along with the former Chief Minister, his son Babulal Soren also joined the BJP.
Champai Soren was welcomed by Union Agriculture Minister and Jharkhand BJP in-charge Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Assam Chief Minister and co-in-charge Himanta Biswa Sarma.
On this occasion, Jharkhand BJP state president Babulal Marandi, and other senior leaders including Amar Bauri, Laxmikant Vajpayee and former Chief Minister Arjun Munda were present.
