Bhubaneswar, July 13: With the vulnerability of FM College girl student’s self-immolation bid, the Crime against Women & Children Wing (CW) of the Odisha Crime Branch has been assigned to monitor the high-level probe ordered for it.
In a bid to ensure an impartial and precise investigation, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi ordered asked the Odisha Crime Branch to deploy its CAW &CW wing for mornitoring the probe in connection with the sensitive incident.
Accordingly, a CAW & CW team led by its Additional SP visited the spot and initiated investigation into the matter.
According to reports, the sleuths reached the College in the afternoon, visited the scene where one Integrated BEd. Student set herself ablaze, and quizzed the College Principal regarding the matter.
Worth mentioning, Soumyashree Bisi (20) of Bhograi,took the extreme step in front of the college principal’s chamber on Saturday afternoon in protest against months-long sexual harassment by Head of the Education Department Samir Sahu, who was allegedly demanding immoral favours from her over poor attendance, and the institute’s alleged inaction in the matter.
