As of 8:00 AM today, the water level in the reservoir stood at 605.31 feet. The inflow into the reservoir has been recorded at 2,41,252 cusecs per second, while the outflow is slightly higher at 2,68,469 cusecs per second, indicating a controlled discharge to manage the rising water levels

Sambalpur, July 10: Authorities at the Hirakud Reservoir have opened 16 sluice gates to release excess floodwater, following a continuous rise in inflow. Of the total gates opened, 11 are on the left side of the reservoir and 5 on the right.

As of 8:00 AM today, the water level in the reservoir stood at 605.31 feet. The inflow into the reservoir has been recorded at 2,41,252 cusecs per second, while the outflow is slightly higher at 2,68,469 cusecs per second, indicating a controlled discharge to manage the rising water levels.

Officials are closely monitoring the situation as heavy inflows continue due to upstream rainfall.
