Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: State Government on Monday served a show cause notice to Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) over the floodlight malfunction which disrupted the ODI match between India and England at Cuttack’s Barabati stadium on Sunday.
The Odisha Sports & Youth Services Department issued a notice seeking clarification over the 'mismanagement' that caused a 30-minute delay in the international cricket match at the iconic stadium.
It directed the state cricket board to submit a detailed explanation regarding the cause of disruption and also identify the persons/agencies responsible for such lapses.
It is worth mentioning that malfunction of the floodlight halted the much anticipated India-England ODI at the Barabati Stadium Cuttack on Sunday for around 30 minutes. The match resumed after the floodlight, that had gone off due to DG related glitches, was repaired.
