Nayagarh, Dec 9: A tragic road accident late Monday night claimed two lives near Torigadia under Odagaon police limits in Nayagarh district. The deceased have been identified as Fakir Nayak and Rajendra Nayak, both residents of Dhajola village.

According to sources, the duo was returning home late at night from Beladhara on a motorcycle when they reportedly lost control of the vehicle near a bridge at Torigadia. The bike veered off the road and fell beneath the bridge, leading to their death on the spot.

On Tuesday morning, local residents spotted the bodies under the bridge and alerted the fire service. Fire personnel reached the location, recovered the victims, and rushed them to Odagaon Medical Centre, where doctors declared both men dead.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
