Ex-PACS chief arrested for Rs8.34 Lakh embezzlement in Balangir

Balangir, Nov 13: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Kushadhwaja Sahu, former Secretary-cum-Chief Executive of the Pandamunda Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS) under Patnagarh block in Bolangir district, for allegedly embezzling Rs8.34 lakh of society funds.

According to a Vigilance release, the investigation uncovered misappropriation of Rs 8,34,489 through deliberate manipulation of financial records. Sahu allegedly failed to carry forward the closing balance of the 2017–18 financial year into the opening balance of 2018–19, thereby diverting the unaccounted amount for personal gain.

Following the inquiry, Sambalpur Vigilance Police Station registered Case No. 24/2025 against Sahu under relevant sections of the law. He was formally arrested today and will be produced before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balangir.

Odisha Vigilance officials stated that a detailed report on the case and further investigation are underway.
