Dr. Sibaji Panda from Sonepur, Odisha, also received recognition with the Jury Commendation Certification. He is dedicated to supporting children with hearing impairments, facilitating their development to achieve their full potential. His work is truly inspiring.
Star-Studded Event with Youth in Focus
The ceremony was a significant occasion, with Shri Jayant Singh Chowdhury, the Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Enterprise and Education, presiding as the Chief Guest, and Padma Shri Professor Dr. Ashok Kumar Mohapatra officiating as the Guest of Honor.
A notable aspect of the ceremony was a highly engaging dialogue between these distinguished individuals and young representatives from the skill sector and educational institutions. Ms. Shaifalika Panda facilitated this exchange, which explored the aspirations, challenges, and opportunities relevant to contemporary youth. A central theme of the discussion was the importance of skills acquisition, career preparedness, and a holistic approach to enhancing employment prospects. This insightful interaction underscored the pivotal role of young change agents in fostering a more inclusive and progressive society.

BIPF has been doing this since 2014, and they've recognized over 20 grassroots changemakers. The Shambhavi Puraskar isn't just a pat on the back; it comes with a cash prize of Rs. 5,00,000, plus a citation and trophy. The Jury Commendation Certification includes Rs. 1,00,000 and a citation.
Inspirational Messages from Dignitaries
Shri Jayant Singh Chaudhary, the Chief Guest, pointed out that Odisha has a lot of resources, and developing skills is crucial. He also noted the economic disparities in resource-rich regions and the need for more job-creating entrepreneurs.

Padmashree Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, the Guest of Honour, highlighted BIPF's role in recognizing those empowering marginalized communities and children with hearing impairments, calling their work "an inspiration for creating a more inclusive and equitable future.”
How the Winners are Chosen
The selection process involves a review of several criteria, including the nominees' impact, the sustainability of their initiatives, the extent of community involvement, and the number of individuals benefiting from their efforts. Each year, a final resolution is made by an independent jury comprising experts from diverse sectors.
About BIPF
The Bansidhar and Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF) started in 2011 by Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Ltd. (IMFA). They focus on health, education, livelihoods, and water and sanitation, working with the government and other organizations to help underserved communities in Odisha. They've made a real difference since they began.
The Shambhavi Puraskar demonstrates that transformative change begins with the unwavering commitment of individuals at the grassroots. By honouring and empowering these changemakers, BIPF ignites a ripple effect, inspiring others to champion a more inclusive and equitable society. We are all called to action: let us contribute to this vital cause, whether by supporting these initiatives or by becoming the changemakers the world needs.
