Bhubaneswar, March 6: Water Resources Department Secretary Shubha Sarma on Friday reviewed the current status and future roadmap of various projects managed by the Odisha Construction Corporation Limited (OCCL) in the State. She directed officials to expedite the Kanpur and Suktel projects before the monsoon to ensure timely water impoundment.

The meeting was attended by OCCL Managing Director Bighnaraj Purohit along with Chief Engineers and other senior officials. Additionally, project heads from various sites participated via virtual mode to present real-time ground reports and data.

To strengthen the administrative framework of the corporation, emphasis was laid on the regular performance evaluation of outsourced personnel to ensure professional efficiency. Furthermore, to guarantee the timely completion of projects, senior officials were directed to prioritize intensive field visits and maintain rigorous oversight of work progress.

A comprehensive review of budget sanctions and expenditure estimates for both completed and ongoing projects was conducted. Specifically, the progress of 'In-stream Storage Structures' currently under construction across various rivers in the state was evaluated. Strict directives given to expedite the Kanpur and Suktel projects before the monsoon to ensure timely water impoundment. Emphasis was placed on the timely completion of gate works across various dam projects under different departments.
