Dhenkanal, July 14: An elephant was found dead near Barihargudi village under Hindol range in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Monday.
As per reports, some local villagers discovered the elephant’s body near a farmland and promptly alerted the forest department.
Upon getting the information, a team of forest officials reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident.
Though the exact reason behind the pachyderm’s death is yet to be ascertained, initial findings suggest that the elephant might have died due to electrocution.
However, a detailed investigation is underway into the matter.
