Eight killed, two injured in car-tractor head-on collision in Bihar’s Katihar

Katihar (Bihar), May 6: In a tragic incident, at least eight people were killed and two others sustained injuries after a car and a tractor collided head-on on the National Highway-31 in Bihar’s Katihar district last night.
The identities of the deceased persons are yet to be ascertained.
As per reports, the car passengers were returning from a wedding function when the ill-fated vehicle collided head-on with a tractor coming from the opposite direction on the NH-31 near the Sameli block office on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
Upon getting the information, police immediately arrived at the scene and rushed the victims to the nearest government hospital where eight of them were declared brought dead. The cops seized the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination.
The two persons who sustained grievous injured are currently undergoing treatment.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
