New Delhi, Aug 31: In a gruesome double murder reported from Delhi's Rohini Sector 17 area on Saturday, a man allegedly killed his wife and mother-in- law over a domestic dispute.
The deceased have been identified as Kusum Sinha (63) and Priya Sehgal (34), while the accused, identified as Yogesh Sehgal, has been arrested by the police.
As per reports, the incident took place at around 3:50 p.m. Police reported receiving a PCR call at the KNK Marg police station regarding a double murder in a flat located in Sector-17, Rohini.
Upon arriving at the scene, the cops discovered the blood-soaked bodies of two women in a room on the third floor of the residence and seized them. Subsequently, they were sent for post-mortem.
Police also recovered the blood-stained clothing and a pair of scissors believed to have been used in the murder.
Meanwhile, Priya's brother Megh Sinha alleged that his brother-in-law, Yogesh, was responsible for the murders. According to Megh, the family broke the lock to enter the house and discovered that their mother had been stabbed. He stated that the incident took place between 3:30 and 4:00 PM and claimed that Yogesh was behind the attack. He also mentioned that the children were with Yogesh at the time.
Megh further claimed that Priya had been subjected to harassment for years. He stated that multiple complaints had been filed with the police over time. According to him, Priya had occasionally stayed at their family home, but compromises were eventually made in an effort to keep the family together.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
