Keonjhar, Oct 12: A 32-year-old man in Keonjhar district of Odisha has alleged that he was prescribed irregular period medicine by a government hospital doctor for urinal problem.
According to reports, Khirod Mahanta of Banamalipur village under Keonjhar Sadar block had consulted a doctor in Padmapur hospital on Tuesday after felt burning in urination. After examination, the attending doctor prescribed him two medicines and UT-Tone syrup. He was provided some free medicine from the hospital also.
As the UT-Tone syrup was not available in the hospital counter, he went to buy in from a private medicine store where the medicine store owner gave him M 2-Tone syrup of the same composition.
Later, Khirod got to know that the syrup was meant for irregular period in women following which he went the consult the doctor further on Wednesday. However, the doctor was on leave. The other attending doctors advised him not to consume the syrup as it was meant for women.
