Malkangiri, June 2: A doctor has reportedly gone missing from the official residence in Malkangiri on Sunday.
The missing doctor is identified as Amlan Kumar Bhoi, a native of Boudh district who was working in the Kalimela Community Health Centre (CHC) from over six months.
Sources said Doctor Bhoi was in his official residence along with three of his colleague doctors till late night on Saturday. However, the co-doctors reported the hospital authorities as Dr Amlan’s where about was not known to them despite desperate searches in the best possible places.
The hospital authorities reported the incident to the Kalimela police and lodged a complaint in this connection. Acting on it, a team of police visited the staff quarter and initiated an investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, a suspicious letter and a poster threatening the tyranny of doctors were seized from Amlan’s room that indicated the involvement of Maoist in the matter.
However, SP Malkangiri said that there is no involvement of Maoists in the case. The doctor might have been kidnapped by other miscreants, he added.
