Bhubaneswar, Mar 5: The Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the Skill India Centre (SIC) in Angul on Monday.

During the inauguration, Pradhan remarked, "Approximately 1000 youths annually stand to benefit from the skill enhancement programs offered at the centre, thereby fostering personal growth and contributing to the economic development of our nation."
This centre holds the promise of becoming a beacon for the future by equipping a significant portion of the youth populace with advanced skills in high-demand trades, fostering entrepreneurship, and promoting large-scale skill development. It will enable youths to harness modern technologies, gain hands-on experience in emerging fields, and facilitate career progression aligned with the evolving demands of the job market and skill development landscape. The centre will offer training across a diverse array of ten courses, including Story Board Artist, Graphic Designer, Stitchers – Goods and Garments, Cutter – Goods and Garments, Helper, Barista Executive, F&B Service Associate, and IT Helpdesk Assistant.
Moreover, these centres are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping education by actively collaborating with industry experts to design curricula that adapt to evolving industry requirements. They strive for standardization, preservation of traditional crafts' rich cultural heritage, and creation of employment opportunities that cater to the demand for skilled talent across various industries.
The earlier launches in the districts of Deogarh, Sambalpur, and Dhenkanal have been well-received by the local youth. These concerted efforts contribute to positioning the state as a hub for futuristic skills, instilling confidence in the youth to pursue and excel in lucrative career opportunities.
