New Delhi, October 28:Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday distributed cheques of Rs 1 lakh each along with Karwa Chauth kits to 51 newlywed women who got married at a mass wedding ceremony organised by the Ladli Foundation in March.

The distribution took place at Mukhyamantri Janseva Sadan to mark the women's first Karwa Chauth after marriage, according to an official statement.

Interacting with the newlyweds, Gupta congratulated them and extended her wishes for a happy, prosperous and fulfilling married life. She also enquired about their families and their experiences following marriage.

The chief minister assured the women of her support during challenging times, reaffirming her commitment to standing by them when they need assistance.
