Deogarh, Mar 27: With the summer peaking early this year, a home guard job aspirant candidate lost his life during the physical test in Deogarh district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Saheba Dehury (19).
The test was part of the recruitment for the posts of Home Guard.
Sources said, a physical examination was conducted on Wednesday. Saheba was part of 60 aspirants who undertook the walk on Thursday. After completing the walk, Saheba collapsed while running and fell unconscious. Police personnel on duty immediately rescued him and rushed him to the Deogarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where he was declared dead upon arrival.
The deceased’s family has raised concerns, alleging that his death was caused by the extreme heat during the physical test.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed grief and announced an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh next of kin of the aspirant.
