Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: The impact of Cyclone Arnab is being felt across Odisha, with Bhubaneswar experiencing repeated spells of heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms. Areas including Lingaraj, Patia, Tamando, Nandankanan and Pahala have been witnessing intense rainfall.
Several districts in southern Odisha are also facing the risk of landslides due to the anticipated heavy downpour. The rising water levels in the Rushikulya River and nearby smaller rivers have raised concerns over possible flooding.
According to the weather forecast, rainfall is likely to continue across Odisha until October 29. Although the cyclone is not expected to make landfall in Odisha, the state could experience heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. Coastal districts stretching from Ganjam to Kendrapara are also likely to receive intense rainfall, while southern Odisha remains particularly vulnerable to torrential showers.
