Corona may peak during April end and first week of May: DMET

Bhubaneswar, April 21: Corona may peak during end of April and first week of May, said the Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET) Dr CBK Mohanty. Mohanty said, Covid-19 cases is surging high in the state. As many as 4851 positive cases have been detected in the last 24 hours. Assumption of different technical institutions reveals that the graph of Corona infection across the state may touch the highest in this period. However, the state is fully prepared to face the coming challenge.Sufficient Oxygen supported beds are available in the hospitals to provide life support to the infected ones. Government and private sponsored oxygen plants are working on it to produce more oxygen. Similarly, the provision of Intensive Care Units (ICU)has been enhanced in the Covid hospitals in order to manage the critical patients. As many as 31 dedicated Covid hospitals in the state out of 71 are functional. About 26 percent bed, 14.18 percent ICU and 10 percent ventilators have been utilized so far.
