
Bhadrak, Sept 26: A conman from Jharkhand was nabbed in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Friday, while he was trying to cheat people impersonating himself as a high ranked Police and Army officer.
Suspecting a car, parked before a hotel in Bhdrak, the Bhdrak Rural Police was able to unwrap the duping bid of the fraudster, identified as Rahul S Ranawat.
The Police arrested the man after a multiple fake uniforms, badges, and a vehicle bearing police insignia was seized from his possession.
The police recovered a Jharkhand-registered car fitted with a police logo and siren lights, a firearm, and numerous uniforms from different forces, including those of the Assam Police and Jharkhand Police.
Additional SP, Bhadrak Police, Arup Abhishek Behera, said further investigation is underway to trace the extent of his activities and the victims.
The precise reason that made the conman stay in Bhadrak, is yet to be established, the ASP added.
