Bhubaneswar, September 2: The Odisha Congress is set to stage a protest against the ruling BJP government, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, both inside and outside the Assembly tomorrow.
Congress Legislative Party leaders, Rama Chandra Kadam and Tara Prasad Bahinipati, have strategized to grill the BJP government on various issues. Among the key topics the Congress plans to raise are the alleged rape and murder of a tribal girl in Remuna, Balasore district, the Khurdha Sajju murder case, and the communal unrest in Balasore, according to Rama Chandra Kadam.
Kadam further stated that the Congress will focus on the state's law and order situation, unemployment, and the demand for student union elections during the Assembly session.
In parallel, the Youth Congress and Student Congress have planned demonstrations and a gherao of the Assembly. Youth Congress President Ranjit Patra, along with former Student Congress President Yasir Nawaj and NSUI Odissa unit president Udit Narayan Pradhan, announced the protests.
It is also reported that the Youth Congress and Student Congress might demonstrate against Higher Education Minister Suryabansi Suraj and potentially gherao his government quarters.
