Bhubaneswar, Jan 15: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will begin a three-day visit to West Bengal from tomorrow to participate in an Investors’ Meet in Kolkata, as part of Odisha’s sustained push to attract investments and accelerate industrial growth.

The Chief Minister will be accompanied by Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and senior officials from the Industries Department during the visit. The roadshow-driven engagement aims to promote industrial expansion and job creation in the state. This will be Majhi’s second such investment outreach, following the successful Investors’ Meet held in Hyderabad last year.

Ahead of the tour, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) posted on X highlighting Odisha’s growing focus on tourism-led investments. The post noted that Odisha is positioning itself as a major tourism investment hub, supported by the Odisha Tourism (Amendment) Policy-2026, which offers investor-friendly incentives, simplified norms, and a strong emphasis on sustainable, cultural, and experiential tourism.

On December 19, Chief Minister Majhi had attended the Odisha Investors’ Meet in Hyderabad, where the state secured investment intentions worth approximately ₹67,000 crore, with the potential to generate nearly 56,000 jobs over the two-day event.

During the Hyderabad meet, 13 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed, accounting for an investment potential of ₹27,650 crore and an estimated 15,905 jobs. Additionally, investment proposals worth ₹39,131 crore were received, which could create over 40,000 employment opportunities, according to a state government statement.

The Hyderabad roadshow included 38 high-level one-on-one meetings and two sector-specific roundtables focused on Pharmaceuticals and Aerospace & Defence. The Pharmaceuticals session saw participation from CXO-level executives of eight leading companies, while the Aerospace & Defence roundtable attracted 27 firms, highlighting Odisha’s rising strategic relevance in these sectors.

More than 500 industry leaders, business associations, and institutional stakeholders attended the Hyderabad event, where the Chief Minister presented his vision for Samruddha Odisha by 2036.
