Bhubaneswar, Jan 10: The cause behind the recent outbreak of jaundice has been identified, according to Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling. He said the spread was traced to contaminated water following the bursting of a pipeline in a school kitchen. The use of this polluted water led to the transmission of the disease, a fact that emerged after the water quality test reports were received.

The Health Minister stated that directions have been issued to all concerned departments, including drinking water supply agencies and WATCO, to ensure the supply of safe and clean drinking water. He added that the situation is currently under control. All municipalities have also been instructed to remain alert and take necessary preventive measures to avoid further incidents.
