Bhubaneswar, May 10: A high-level security review meeting was convened at the DG Camp office to assess and strengthen coastal security in light of potential threats. Senior officials, including the Director General of Police (DGP), Chief Secretary, ADG (Law and Order), Intelligence Director, Coastal Officers, Central Range IG, and Navy personnel, participated in the meeting.
Following the review, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Coast Guard, Arun Bothra, stated that security measures along the coastline have been significantly stepped up. Coordination with the Indian Navy and Coast Guard has been enhanced to ensure round-the-clock surveillance and swift response capabilities. “We are on high alert,” he confirmed.
To bolster vigilance, communication has been intensified with coastal police stations, marine police units, and local residents. Intelligence is actively being gathered from coastal communities to aid in preemptive security efforts.
Highlighting the technological boost to operations, ADG Bothra revealed that drones have been deployed for aerial surveillance, and a 24x7 marine patrolling system is now in place. “All necessary arrangements are being made to provide a strong response to any hostile elements. Our preparedness has been doubled,” he added.
