CNG Price Hike: IGL raises CNG rates by ₹3.89 per Kg in Delhi-NCR

New Delhi, Aug 29: In a fresh blow to the common man after the festive season, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Delhi-NCR by ₹3.89 per kg.

The revised prices came into effect from 6 am on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Following the hike, CNG in Delhi is now priced at ₹86.98 per kg.

CNG Prices Across Delhi-NCR

According to IGL's latest price list, the revised CNG prices are:

Delhi: ₹86.98 per kg

Noida and Ghaziabad: ₹95.59 per kg

Meerut: ₹95.47 per kg

Gurugram: ₹92.01 per kg

The increase is expected to directly affect owners of CNG-powered cars, auto-rickshaws and taxis, making daily commuting more expensive.

Why Are CNG Prices Rising?

The latest hike comes amid growing pressure in international energy markets. The ongoing tensions in the Middle East have affected LNG supplies and cargo movement, pushing up global natural gas prices.

Demand for LNG has also increased as European countries work to build up their natural gas reserves. These developments have added further pressure on energy prices.

PNG Consumers Get Some Relief

While CNG users will have to bear the additional burden, there is some relief for household consumers. PNG prices have not been changed for now, meaning the latest hike is unlikely to immediately affect household cooking gas expenses.

The increase in CNG prices, however, could raise transportation costs and potentially add to the overall cost of commuting and goods delivery in the coming days.
