Bhubaneswar, April 15: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep grief over the death of Rupali Besra, a student of an ashram school under Rasgovindpur in Mayurbhanj district, and extended condolences to the bereaved family.

Taking the matter seriously, the Chief Minister ordered an RDC-level inquiry into the incident. He directed the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Northern Division) to conduct a detailed probe into the circumstances under which students fell ill and the cause of Rupali’s death, and to submit a report at the earliest. The RDC is scheduled to visit the site on Thursday for investigation.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister announced financial assistance of ₹3 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for the next of kin of the deceased. A medical team will also visit the area to carry out health check-ups of other students.
