Bhubaneswar, July 14: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday paid floral tributes to Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das on the occasion of his 98th death anniversary.

The Chief Minister offered a garland to the statue of the legendary freedom fighter, social reformer and educationist at the Odisha Legislative Assembly premises in Bhubaneswar.

Paying homage, Majhi described Utkalmani as a symbol of Odisha's dignity, service, sacrifice and humanity. He said Gopabandhu Das's ideals continue to inspire people across generations and remain a guiding force for society.

"The incomparable contribution of Utkalmani towards public welfare and social service will always illuminate the coming generation," the Chief Minister said, while offering his tribute to the revered leader's sacred memory.

Pandit Gopabandhu Das, popularly known as Utkalmani (Gem of Odisha), is remembered for his selfless service to society, his role in Odisha's freedom movement, and his efforts in promoting education and social reforms. His legacy continues to inspire millions across the state.
