Phulbani, June 7: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the much-anticipated Phulbani Government Medical College and Hospital on Saturday, marking a significant milestone in the region’s healthcare and education infrastructure.

Arriving at the reserved ground in Madikunda around 11 a.m., the Chief Minister proceeded to Tilakpada on the outskirts of Phulbani, where the newly constructed medical college is located. Following the formal inauguration, he addressed a gathering of doctors, nurses, and staff in the college auditorium.
Joining the Chief Minister at the event were Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Member of Parliament Sukanta Kumar Panigrahi, Phulbani MLA Uma Charan Mallick, District Collector Amrit Ruturaj, and the college’s Dean, Dr. Narendra Behera.
The new institution features facilities for 100 medical students and includes a 650-bed hospital, aiming to enhance healthcare access in the region. Academic sessions are expected to begin from the current academic year.
This inaugural visit to Phulbani by the Chief Minister has generated significant public interest and enthusiasm among local residents.
