Chandan Yatra: Dispute among temple servitors halts ritual at Narendra Pond

Puri, Ap 29: The ritual scheduled at Narendra Pond on the ninth day of the Chandan Yatra was disrupted due to a dispute among temple servitors.

The disagreement involved prominent temple aides, including Madanmohan, Ramakrishna, and members of the Panchpandav, who remained seated on the ceremonial platform for an extended period.

Tensions reportedly arose between the Singhari and Sudu Suar appointments, preventing the deity from performing the scheduled ritual.

The conflict appears to have been triggered by the Sudu Suar servants being denied access to the platform.

Despite efforts by the temple administration to resolve the matter, no solution was reached. Devotees present at the event expressed disappointment at being unable to witness the ritual as planned.
