Bhubaneswar, May 13: The Commissionerate Police today arrested a chain snatcher and recovered several incriminating materials from his possession in Bhubaneswar.
The accused has been identified as Bishnu Prasad Jena, a resident of Dalimbagaradi village under Konark police limits.
As per reports, the police were investigation several gold chain and bracelet snatching cases wherein a single bike-borne person committed the crime. Acting on a tip-off, the cops nabbed the accused.
The cops have seized Rs 2 lakh cash, one motorcycle, one mobile phone, gold ornaments weighing around 200 grams from his possession.
During course of investigation, it was found that Bishnu used to snatch gold chain and bracelet from the commuters on road and later disposes them at different shops and also in banks as mortgage.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
