Bhubaneswar, October 19: The 70th State Police Duty Meet concluded today at the Reserve Police Ground in Cuttack, with Law, Works, and Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan gracing the event as the chief guest.

The event, which included a vibrant parade, recognized top performers for their dedication and skill. Minister Harichandan emphasized the vital role of the police in building a prosperous state and highlighted the government’s efforts to modernize the force. He announced the appointment of additional Public Prosecutors to expedite justice and reiterated the commitment to safeguarding women, children, and vulnerable groups, with plans to establish Fast Track Courts for crimes against women.

The Minister also praised the police for their efforts in fighting narcotics trafficking and wished the Odisha police team success in the upcoming All India Police Service Competition in Maharashtra.

State DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania urged continuous skill development and a progressive mindset among officers. He highlighted the Crime Branch’s initiatives, including training camps to enhance investigative capabilities.

The event concluded with awards presented to the top competitors, honoring the professionalism and dedication of the state police force.
