Bhubaneswar, Ap 14: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday conducted a raid at an online examination centre in Bhubaneswar as part of its investigation into the alleged Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination scam.
A 20-member CBI team carried out searches at the Techno School centre, believed to be linked to absconding accused Gobinda Tripathy. The centre’s role surfaced during interrogations of 114 candidates arrested in connection with the scam. Officials said the raid aimed to collect crucial evidence, including registers and other documents.
Preliminary findings indicate that candidates were allegedly charged around ₹15 lakh each to manipulate the examination process. Roll numbers were reportedly rescheduled to allow select candidates to appear at designated centres, where arrangements were allegedly made to facilitate unfair practices.
Special arrangements at the Techno School centre reportedly benefited certain candidates. The agency has already filed a chargesheet in a CBI court against 17 arrested individuals, including Shankar Prusty, Muna Mohanty, and Suresh Nayak.
Officials stated that further details will emerge as the investigation continues.
