Bhubaneswar, October 6: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has on Monday announced that the bypoll for the Nuapada assembly constituency in Odisha will take place on November 11, coinciding with the Bihar assembly elections.
The by-election is being held following the unfortunate demise of Rajendra Dholakia, the sitting BJD MLA from Nuapada. The election will fill the vacant seat left by his passing.
In a previous statement, the ECI also disclosed the deployment of 470 officers across various states, who will serve as central observers (general, police, and expenditure) for the Bihar assembly elections and by-elections in seven other states, including Odisha. These observers will operate under the supervision and control of the Election Commission throughout the election process.
