Balasore, Mar 27: Balasore police on Wednesday apprehended a major brown sugar supplier near Malgodamsahi under Jaleswar police limits and seized contraband weighing 260 grams from his possession.
The accused was wanted in a previous case involving the recovery of 250 grams of brown sugar from his buyer, highlighting his significant role in the local drug trade.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force of Balasore police has been active, arresting 11 individuals across seven cases and confiscating approximately 1.5 kg of brown sugar. In one of the cases, an inter-state drug peddler was also apprehended and further his links are being investigated.
