Rourkela, April 7: The Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) has been honoured with prestigious recognitions from the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records for its remarkable achievement in academic administration.

The award was presented by Sanjay Bhola to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Amiya Kumar Rath in the presence of eminent guests.

Rourkela MLA Sarada Prasad Nayak attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Among others present were Alok Verma, former DIC Atanu Bhowmik, ADM Dina Dastagir, Prof. Dr. Arya Pattanayak and Registrar Nishi Poonam Minz, along with other dignitaries.

BPUT earned this distinction for publishing examination results within just two days of conducting pen-and-paper tests, setting a new benchmark. A total of 67,963 students appeared for undergraduate and postgraduate examinations, with 3,51,264 answer scripts evaluated.

The award ceremony commenced at 11:15 AM and was underway at the time of reporting.
