Bhubaneswar, Sept 8: Panic gripped commuters near Acharya Vihar Square on Sunday after a portion of the boundary wall of the Pathani Samanta Planetarium collapsed. The incident took place close to an AMA bus stop, where several passengers were waiting.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Eyewitnesses said the wall gave way without warning, prompting people to scramble for safety.

Though the mishap did not result in casualties, at least four two-wheelers parked in the vicinity were damaged by falling debris.

Vehicle owners voiced their anger over the damages, alleging negligence in the upkeep of the structure. “This could have turned into a serious accident. Authorities must ensure regular maintenance to prevent such incidents,” said one of the affected owners.

The collapse has once again raised questions about the safety and structural integrity of public properties in the capital city.
