Bhubaneswar, Mar 4: In a shocking incident just days before the festival of Holi, a woman was brutally murdered by her husband in Bhubaneswar. The tragic event took place near Phuleswari Basti.

The deceased has been identified as Savitri Mallik. She was stabbed to death by her husband, accused Purnachandra Mallik.

The Bharatpur police have seized Savitri's body and are investigating the matter. The circumstances of the murder remain unclear, and the police are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact sequence of events.

Purnachandra was arrested before he could flee the area. Further inquiries are underway.
